The ones of us not living in Montgomery were not aware of Gene Wolf's passing or what he was doing in his life .He was at the time of his death a professor of music at the University of Penn. where he served as director of graduate studies and chair of the music department. He was an internationally renowned expert on the style and history of 18th century symphony. He won awards too numerous to list among them the Alfred Einstein Prize of the American Musicological Society. He wrote a book in 1984 along with his wife. The ones that remember him are not surprised by his successes.
