I bought a '49 Ford in 1957 from a retired school teacher who just drove it back and forth to school.  Why it had 187,000 miles on it I will never know.  I drove it back and forth to Georgia for two years and later had it through  two years at Huntington.  It was a stick shift.  I thought it was fast until I tried drag racing against Frank Whitfield.  Frank left me in his dust.
