Enjoyed reading the input on the Message Board, especially about the Army and Navy involvement in football, which haven't been overwhelming success stories recently, especially when you consider the achievement of my alma mater, Georgia, which just won the Sugar Bowl, and which will place Georgia within the top 5 teams in the nation when LSU and Ohio State have done their thing for first place. We played in the Orange Bowl when I was there and placed 4th in the nation. I wanted to broach several other items that may be of interest. One: recently on PBS I watched a program about keeping the brain active which was oriented toward senior citizens such as we. I ended up buying two books through Amazon.com, to wit: Brain Fitness (which includes anti-aging strategies and how to fight Alzheimer's disease, among other topics), and The Brain That Changes Itself, which was highly touted by the PBS program. The program urged seniors to stay active playing games and working puzzles to keep the brain fit, which makes a lot of sense. That said, I would recommend that if you have not done so, that you look at the Sudoku puzzles available in the daily newspaper and online and work some of them; after awhile you will find all of them easy to solve. I would warn you that if you have not played them before, they can become addictive, and they certainly activate the thought processes. There is also a website: www.soduko.org which offers thousands of puzzles (categorized Easy, Medium, Hard and Insane) to work, and if you register on the site, you can compete with and get ranked along with other members on the site. The puzzles are free, and you can work them online, or print them to solve off line and enter the solution later. I strongly encourage you to take the challenge...and allow yourself to stay active. As of early January we are in Texas where the temperature this week is in the 80's, while it remains in the 30's and 40's back in Maryland. After spending three years in Thailand where the average daily temperature was 95, I will opt for the current weather in Texas anytime. Hope it is warm where you are. Warren
