In 1886 this fountain was purchased for $7000 and put over one of the city's oldest wells 'Big Basin' on Court Street

This was before curling irons. I remember my mother heating this up on the stove and curling my hair when I was young.

This use to be where Webbers Dept. Store was housed. Also the offices of Jefferson Davis and his cabinet were here. It is the oldest building and still there.
